Covid-19 VaccinationsCOVID-19 Vaccination Update 20/5/21
The Covid vaccinations continue at an increased pace, some 35,000 vaccinations have been given so far. To date, 96% of the over 80s and 95% of those aged 70 to 79 have had 2 vaccinations. We are presently giving mostly 2nd vaccinations to the 50-65 year olds and a few first doses to those aged between 35 and 45. The interval between vaccinations has now been reduced from 12 to 8 weeks and we are doing all we can to expedite these 2nd doses.
COVID-19 Vaccination Update 14/4/21-
We have now provided over 23,000 Covid-19 vaccinations. Presently we are giving 2nd doses to those that had their 1st vaccinations at the end of January. During the final 2 weeks of April we will be very busy vaccinating (nearly 5,000 patients). These will be mostly 2nd vaccinations for people vaccinated in the 1st 2 weeks of February. If we have any surplus of vaccine in the coming weeks we will continue to vaccinate those aged 40-49 and the household contacts of immunosuppressed patients.
COVID-19 Vaccination Update 1/4/2021-
The Weedon Local Vaccination Site has now performed over 20,500 vaccinations. Presently we are providing 2nd vaccinations to those over 75 years of age. Vaccination supply has slowed but we are receiving sufficient vaccine that we will honour all 2nd doses of the vaccine about 11 weeks after the 1st dose. The 2nd vaccination recall system is working well and you will be contacted when it is due. We are lucky to have enough supply that we can continue to offer 1st doses to those in cohorts 1-9, if you think you have been missed, feel free to ring 01327 340212, option 4 to speak to our Covid team. Happy Easter to you all!
COVID-19 Vaccination Update 19/3/21-
So far some 17,500 vaccinations have been given and we anticipate that all patients in Cohorts 1-9 will have has their 1st vaccination by the end of March. This is well ahead of the national picture. We believe there are some 500 patients in the network who have not yet been booked in for their 1st vaccination. If you are aged over 50 and think you have been missed please call us on 01327 340 212, option 4. Undoubtedly you will have seen that vaccine supplies in April will be reduced. The government has indicated that there will still be adequate supplies to honour all 2nd doses. The recall system for the 2nd doses is well organised. Invitations to book 2nd appointments will be triggered 70 days after the 1st vaccination. Please do not call before the 70 days has elapsed. The Northants Rural Network has applied to vaccinate Cohorts 10-12 (adults under 50) and, if approval is given, will start vaccinating these cohorts in May.
