Covid-19 VaccinationsCOVID-19 Vaccination Update 14/4/21-
We have now provided over 23,000 Covid-19 vaccinations. Presently we are giving 2nd doses to those that had their 1st vaccinations at the end of January. During the final 2 weeks of April we will be very busy vaccinating (nearly 5,000 patients). These will be mostly 2nd vaccinations for people vaccinated in the 1st 2 weeks of February. If we have any surplus of vaccine in the coming weeks we will continue to vaccinate those aged 40-49 and the household contacts of immunosuppressed patients.
COVID-19 Vaccination Update 1/4/2021-
The Weedon Local Vaccination Site has now performed over 20,500 vaccinations. Presently we are providing 2nd vaccinations to those over 75 years of age. Vaccination supply has slowed but we are receiving sufficient vaccine that we will honour all 2nd doses of the vaccine about 11 weeks after the 1st dose. The 2nd vaccination recall system is working well and you will be contacted when it is due. We are lucky to have enough supply that we can continue to offer 1st doses to those in cohorts 1-9, if you think you have been missed, feel free to ring 01327 340212, option 4 to speak to our Covid team. Happy Easter to you all!
COVID-19 Vaccination Update 19/3/21-
So far some 17,500 vaccinations have been given and we anticipate that all patients in Cohorts 1-9 will have has their 1st vaccination by the end of March. This is well ahead of the national picture. We believe there are some 500 patients in the network who have not yet been booked in for their 1st vaccination. If you are aged over 50 and think you have been missed please call us on 01327 340 212, option 4. Undoubtedly you will have seen that vaccine supplies in April will be reduced. The government has indicated that there will still be adequate supplies to honour all 2nd doses. The recall system for the 2nd doses is well organised. Invitations to book 2nd appointments will be triggered 70 days after the 1st vaccination. Please do not call before the 70 days has elapsed. The Northants Rural Network has applied to vaccinate Cohorts 10-12 (adults under 50) and, if approval is given, will start vaccinating these cohorts in May.
SUSPICIOUS CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES
To protect yourself and your family members from fraud and criminals please remember the following points:
. The vaccine is only available on the NHS and is free to people in priority groups. The NHS will contact patients when it is their turn. You will not be asked to pay for the vaccine.
· The NHS will never ask you to press a button on your keypad or send a text to confirm you want the vaccine, and never ask for payment or for your bank details.
· The NHS are not making house calls to deliver or discuss the vaccine.
If you receive a call which you believe to be fraudulent, hang up. If you believe you have been the victim of fraud or identity theft you should report this directly to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. Where the victim is vulnerable, and particularly if you are worried that someone has or might come to your house, report it to the Police online or by calling 101.
