
Crick Medical Practice will begin our Influenza vaccination programme for 2021 from 18th September 2021. Our Flu clinics will be held at Crick Medical Practice & West Haddon Surgery.
The following cohorts of patients are eligible for a vaccine:
- All children aged 2 to 15 (but not 16 years or older) on 31 August 2021
- Those aged 6 months to under 50 years in a clinical risk group such as those with:
o Chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, such as severe asthma,
o Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchitis
o Chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
o Chronic kidney disease at stage three, four or five
o Chronic liver disease
o Chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s disease or motor neurone disease,
o Learning disability
o Diabetes
o Splenic dysfunction or asplenia
o A weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment)
o Morbidly obese (defined as BMI of 40 and above)
- Pregnant women
- Those aged 50 years and over
- Those in long-stay residential care homes
- Carers
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
When attending for your flu vaccination please wear a face covering and as few items of clothing on you upper body to assist the clinicians in administering the vaccine as quickly as possible. For further information about the influenza vaccination programme please click here
